Plot summary
Still Bill is a portrait of the soul singer and songwriter Bill Withers, best known for 'Ain't No Sunshine,' 'Lean On Me,' 'Lovely Day,' 'Grandma's Hands' and 'Just the Two of Us.' The film follows his life from his West Virginia roots and his time in the United States Navy to his musical career and, afterward, to family life. The title comes from his 1972 album of the same name. The documentary brings together concert footage, a journey to his birthplace, and conversations with music legends, family members and close friends. Withers, retired from recording, also talks about his personal philosophy.
