Plot summary
Sadie Rhodes travels constantly for work. At a farmers' market in Washington, D.C., she meets Cole Turner, an organic farmer who writes about agriculture, and the two spend an all-night date together. Afterward his messages to her go unanswered, and his sister calls it ghosting. His parents convince him to fly to London and surprise her, and a tracker on the inhaler he left in her bag leads him there. In London, arms dealers seize him and take him to Pakistan, mistaking him for a legendary CIA operative known as the Taxman. The dealers work for a disgraced French intelligence agent who wants a passcode from him.
