Plot summary
In an Austrian maternity hospital, two babies are handed to the wrong parents: the child of Marion and Stefan Strohmayer goes home with Emre and Emine Dönmez, a Turkish family of immigrant workers, and the Dönmez baby goes home with the Strohmayers. The error comes to light only after the Dönmez family, the baby with them, has been deported. Marion and Stefan Strohmayer set out through Turkey to track the family down in their native village, where their child is being raised by parents who know nothing of the exchange.
