Freehold (2017) on Netflix

Plot summary

Two pigeons jostle for a chunk of bread outside a modest flat owned by Hussein, who sells property for a living. He looks dapper at work and is slovenly in his habits: teeth brushed in the nude while he sits on the toilet, dishes stacked precariously in the sink. Once Hussein leaves, Orlan emerges from the slot between the walls, pale and emaciated with spindly fingers. He runs through the same morning routine, the electric toothbrush and the face towel, one spoonful from each cereal box. He spends the day reading and tearing book pages for toilet paper. Hussein returns, calls a buyer and orders a pizza, then schedules a girlfriend's pickup at the airport. That night Orlan drinks the last of the Coca-Cola, practices nunchucks and moves the alarm from eight to nine; Hussein wakes late.
