Plot summary
On New Year's Eve, Sam briefs Ted before he takes over the night shift as bellhop at the Hotel Mon Signor, a once-grand Hollywood hotel in Los Angeles. Ted carries luggage upstairs for a group of women in the Honeymoon Suite and learns they are a coven of witches working to reverse a spell on their goddess, Diana. The ritual calls for each of them to add an ingredient, and one woman has yet to get hers. In Room 404, a man named Siegfried holds Ted at gunpoint and accuses him of sleeping with his wife, Angela. A couple going out to a party pay Ted to watch their children, Sarah and Juancho. In the penthouse, Chester Rush and his friends ask for an odd list of items and offer Ted money to referee their wager.

- Allison Anders and Alexandre Rockwell became unhappy with the production because of Weinstein's actions and behavior: he described working on the film as "working with two geniuses and two hacks", and told Rockwell he would be "an insignificant art director for the rest of [his] life".
- Bruce Willis appears in the film as a favor to Quentin Tarantino, filming his part in just two days without pay, and because that violated Screen Actors Guild rules, he ended up going completely uncredited on screen.
- The first assembled cut of Four Rooms ran two hours and 40 minutes, and when Harvey Weinstein demanded cuts, only Allison Anders and Alexandre Rockwell were pressured to trim their segments because Quentin Tarantino was considered untouchable after Pulp Fiction and Robert Rodriguez's segment was shot with almost no extra footage to cut.
- Bob Weinstein informed director Allison Anders that the studio had recut her segment without her knowledge, which annoyed her so much that she refused to promote the film as a result.
- It was decided that each filmmaker would write and direct a segment involving the bellhop Ted, played by Tim Roth. The role of Ted was originally going to be played by Steve Buscemi instead.
- Linklater was originally supposed to direct a fifth segment of the anthology film, but he eventually dropped out of the project.
