Plot summary

Promethean Kinetics created Helios to solve the energy crisis, a clean coal energy source whose power is compared to the force of the sun. When some governments cut the safety measures the highly explosive product requires, the material seeps deep below the Earth's crust and drives violent earthquakes and blasts of fire up through the surface, shaking cities and boiling oceans. Dr. Eve Carter, the creator of the Helios technology, sets out to investigate the underground phenomenon, and as the situation grows worse she is the only one who might still save mankind, along with the reputation of her own work.
