Plot summary
An armed mercenary squad is wiped out at night on a remote island off the coast of North America. The island holds a secret facility where Dr. Krieger works to turn soldiers into mutants with superstrength and no control. Valerie Cardinal, a journalist, has been quietly receiving information about that research, and she hires Jack to carry her to the island. The island's force commander, Jason Parker, objects to using humans as test subjects, but Krieger says the dead have been mercenaries led by Katia Chernov. On the crossing, Valerie explains that the man she is going to meet is Max, her uncle, and that he once served alongside Jack; Jack denies knowing him. When the boat reaches the island, the two head for the meeting point.
