Plot summary
After his father's death, Henry O'Shea, a nursing student in New York City, becomes the head of his family. To support his mother and the rest of the household, he takes a leave from school and finds work as a doorman at an elite apartment building in the city. One of the residents' daughters is Scarlett Dowling, who has a boyfriend and whose mother is Meredith. When Scarlett runs into difficult situations, Henry's nursing training lets him step in and help her, and the two begin to connect. He works the front door of the building alongside Raul, another doorman.
