Plot summary
The Fair Haven Orchard has been in the Grant family for four generations, and Richard expects his son James to keep it that way. James has just come home from conversion therapy under the Christian therapist Dr. Gallagher, and the money once set aside for him to study at Berklee College of Music is gone; his father wants him to learn agribusiness instead, though James hopes to be a concert pianist. His delivery route takes him past Charlie Green, a high school classmate he once loved. Father and son return to church, where James meets Suzy, the pastor's daughter, who is eager to go out with him.
