Plot summary
Gordon's job is to pilot robotic hexapods for an American security company, patrolling a wide area of desert around a client's oil facility in a North African country. Recently broken up with his girlfriend, he shrugs off a colleague's advice to play the field. One day a camera shows him Ayusha, a young woman who resembles his ex. Ayusha faces an arranged marriage to an older man and loves Karim, and her family is preparing the wedding. Drawn to the couple and to Ayusha, Gordon photographs them and becomes more involved in their lives, and his supervisor Peter warns him to keep his distance.
