Plot summary

Emilie and Ines are sisters with little in common who live far apart and seldom meet. Ines, an artist coping with poor reviews of her latest exhibition, accepts Emilie's invitation to a short trip to a place in the heart of Europe that Emilie will not name. The first days are spent in a luxurious hotel and an equally luxurious restaurant. Emilie, who has sold her flat, says she intends to go back to studying. Over dinner she dances with a stranger and tells him that Ines has come only because her own career is on the way down, and that she has run out of time for lying. She turns down his advances, saying an adventure is not possible for her, and blames her discomfort on the champagne she has drunk.
