Plot summary
Malik Khan, a Marine, arrives at the house where his sons Jay and Bobby live with their mother, Piya, and her partner, Dylan. Piya has been feeling sick, and Dylan says it is a bug. In the middle of the night Malik wakes the boys and drives them away, saying their trip is really a rescue mission. A parasite from another planet, he tells them, has infected people, their mother among them, and uses human bodies to multiply. He gives the boys bug spray, which he says keeps the parasites out. A police officer pulls the car over; Malik decides the man is infected, takes his gun, knocks him down and drives on.
