Plot summary
Edwin Boyd served in World War II and now drives a bus in Toronto, where he cannot make ends meet for his wife Doreen and their two young children. He met Doreen in England during the war. His father, a retired policeman, disapproves of his ambition to become a Hollywood star. Desperate, he takes an old pistol and covers his face with theatrical grease paint before robbing a bank.
