Dogmouth (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

Dogmouth keeps his pregnant girlfriend Nyah with him in a wilderness hideout, where he tells her he has changed and that gossip has made him out to be worse than he is. She asks whether he has killed men, Denver Red in particular, and he insists he has not. The two wait to hop a freight train north. At a campsite he and his partner Becker talk about dogs and about getting a job done. Dogmouth remembers Crooked Dice, the dog he loved best, and his father, a sailor who died at sea, and his mother, who left after collecting insurance money. Nyah says her family and friends revile him. Railroad cops search the tracks, and Becker tells Nyah a story about a railroad cop who set an old man on fire.
