Plot summary
A man parked at the Grand Canyon is nearly crushed when someone releases his car's brake and pushes the vehicle toward him. He jumps clear, and in the struggle his attacker goes over the rim. Wandering the road afterward, the shaken stranger talks what sounds like nonsense to Eli, an old prospector, who carries word to Deputy Les Martin. Martin knows Eli's tall tales and pays him no mind, stopping Janice Kendon instead for reckless driving. Eli finds the stranger's body, hands bound, and Janice recognizes the dead man's jacket as the work of a New York tailor.

- The climax of Edge of Eternity, a fight on a US Guano cable car suspended above the Grand Canyon, was filmed on the real aerial tramway to the Bat Cave mine in the western Grand Canyon of Arizona, a mine owned by US Guano that played out and closed in 1960.
- Felicia Farr was to play the female lead of Edge of Eternity, then known as Rim of the Canyon, but was replaced by Victoria Shaw.
