Plot summary
Ted Jackson is a lieutenant junior grade in the United States Navy. Before his present duties he served as an explosive ordnance disposal officer, and he now divides his time between work as a deep-sea diver and singing in a nightclub. A dive brings him to a sunken ship that he believes may hold a fortune in Spanish gold, and he sets out to raise the wreck's cargo. Jo Symington, a go-go dancer who is also an expert in yoga, and his friend Judd Whitman join the effort. Gil Carey is after the same treasure, and Dina Bishop, his girlfriend, works to stop Ted.

- Paramount first planned Easy Come, Easy Go as a film for the surf duo Jan and Dean, directed by Barry Shear, but canceled it after the stars and several crew were hurt in a train crash. The studio kept the title and gave Elvis Presley a completely different plot.
- Easy Come, Easy Go was the first Elvis Presley film since his 1956 debut, Love Me Tender, to have a soundtrack with no ballad on it, and that soundtrack sold only 30,000 copies, the worst-selling record Presley ever released for RCA Victor.
