Plot summary
In New York, Teddy works as a con artist, a womanizer and a smuggler of exotic animals. When a deal collapses and the rare tropical birds he is delivering get loose, he travels to Australia to find replacements. Driving through the arid Northern Territory, he picks up Angie, a hitchhiker who has never seen the ocean and asks him to take her to the beach. She seduces him, and at the seaside she proposes marriage. Teddy pretends to agree, and she knocks him unconscious. He comes to in Woop Woop, a dilapidated hamlet inside a crater-like rock formation in central Australia. Angie's father, Daddy-O, tells him the two are now considered married, and that no one leaves Woop Woop without his permission.
