- Writer-directors Brendan Cowles and Shane Kuhn buried nods to John Carpenter's Halloween throughout: Leighton Meester's heroine is named Mackenzie Carpenter, after a line Jamie Lee Curtis shouts in that film, and Fisher appears in blue coveralls like Michael Myers's, introduced by a point-of-view shot copying Halloween's opening.
