Plot summary
Meteorites fall in a shower, and dragons ride inside them. The creatures descend on the medieval countryside and destroy what they find. King Fastrad and King Wednesbury are rival monarchs, and the dragons give them a shared enemy. A messenger warns Fastrad of the danger, but he does not believe the warning. The dragons then ruin his fiefdom, and he sets out for Wednesbury's lands. On the road, a hunter named Silas agrees to guide and protect the party for a price.
