Plot summary

Vladislaus Dragulia, a Romanian prince sworn to a secret order, is charged with driving the Turks from his homeland. He leaves his wife Erzebet to rule while he is away and returns to find her murdered by his own advisers. He kills them, spares the one who stayed loyal, and his rage against God leaves him cursed to an eternity of loneliness under the name Dracula. Centuries later, Wrath, an undead armored figure, attacks the keepers of the Lightbringer, the only weapon able to destroy Dracula. Sisters Alina and Esme are sent to carry it to Leonardo Van Helsing, but thieves under Lucian seize it. Alina is taken to Dracula's castle, where Dracula sees in her face his murdered wife.
