Plot summary
Drea Torres attends Rosehill Country Day High School in Miami on a scholarship, popular until an intimate video she sent her boyfriend Max Broussard spreads through the school. She blames Max, punches him, and loses both him and her friends; the headmaster puts her on behavioral probation and warns that another problem with Max will cost her the scholarship. That summer, working at a tennis camp, she meets Eleanor Levetan, a shy transfer student who says a rumor from an earlier summer camp made her an outcast. Both watch their tormentors do well while they are shunned. They agree to a secret arrangement: each goes after the other's enemy, with Eleanor joining the popular crowd and Drea getting close to Carissa Jones at the school farm.
