Plot summary
Long ago the Arakacians found a leak in spacetime whose fluid made anyone who drank it immortal; freedom fighters sealed the fountain chamber and lost its key, a green crystal, among the stars. In the present, space crewman Tyler comes across the key during an asteroid excavation and it drives him insane. He takes his ship toward the planet whose inhabitants carry traces of the fluid. On Eden, designated F.A.K.K.², he kills many and captures others, among them the schoolteacher Kerrie. Kerrie's warrior sister Julie survives the raid and teams up with the pilot Germain to follow him.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Heavy Metal 2000 (2000)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- In 1991 Kevin Eastman bought Heavy Metal magazine and became its owner, publisher and editor-in-chief. His first task was to extract the 1981 animated Heavy Metal film from legal limbo: the original producers had not secured the music licensing for its soundtrack, and Columbia TriStar would not bother with a home video release.
- The home video re-release of Heavy Metal proved to be a major hit, selling over two million copies, and that success led Columbia to offer Eastman a collaboration on a follow-up film.
