Plot summary
Emma Collins carries on her late father Nick's work, tracking climate change and protecting great white sharks on Little Happy, an artificial island near South Africa that rising seas have flooded. Her colleagues are Spinnaker, known as Spinn, Miya, and Eugene Shaw, a close friend of her father. Nandi and her brother Bahari, the last residents of the former fishing village, also live there. On their boat, the Thasos, Richard Lowell, Emma's former partner, and his crew find Bella, a bull shark, dead in fishing lines. Richard sails to Little Happy to look for Bella's three grown pups, the only survivors of her litter, and Emma joins the dive to chase them.
