Trailer

Plot summary

Princess Evie of the kingdom of Jzafir is deposed by the sorcerer Jerak, who seizes power with his ally Sultana and rules the land through a clone of the princess. The real Evie has slipped free of his control, while her double holds her place. Into this kingdom comes Deathstalker, a renowned warrior. He helps a woman who calls herself Reena the Seer out of trouble, and she asks for his help with a larger task: putting the true princess back on the throne. He agrees, and the two of them ride for Jerak's stronghold, opposed by the sorcerer's goons and by fierce Amazon women.

  • Monique Gabrielle said the shoot in Argentina was difficult, with stunts the production could not do safely there, and that she was almost dropped into a pot of water that was supposed to be boiling.
  • Jim Wynorski wrote two parts for Monique Gabrielle partly because he needed more people who could speak English, and he and John rewrote new material each night at the hotel to shoot over the next couple of days.
  • Wynorski reused sets from the earlier sword and sorcery films Corman made in Argentina, saying they were pretty much trashed by the time he arrived and that he was the last to use them before they were torn down.

  • Wynorski asked Roger Corman to send down the biggest lady wrestler he could find, and Corman hired Dee Booher, with whom Wynorski then filmed the Queen Kong scene.
  • Jim Wynorski said Roger Corman was upset that he never got the chance to produce Conan the Barbarian (1982), and decided to copy it instead.
