Plot summary
Jade works at a marketing firm, and her husband Ed is a heart surgeon. Friends and family think the couple have everything, and they dote on their daughter Kayla. In private, Ed is emotionally and physically abusive. He tears up the dress Jade bought for a work award, hits her and chokes her, and accuses her of cheating with her coworker Liam. He demands she quit her job if she cannot work from home. Jade packs her belongings, takes Kayla, and moves in with her sister Leigh. Ed assaults her after seeing divorce papers in her car.

- Death Saved My Life was inspired by Noela Rukundo, who survived the hitmen her husband paid to kill her and confronted him at her own funeral.
- Executive producer Julie Insogna Jarrett first planned to shoot in North Jersey, but Steven Gorelick of the New Jersey film commission sent her to Haddonfield, and Mayor Neal Rochford agreed to let the crew film there.
- Shot during the COVID-19 pandemic, the cast was tested every 72 hours, and executive producers Julie Insogna Jarrett and Seth Jarrett put the cast in a Philadelphia hotel where they had to practice "purposeful isolation".
- Meagan Good said she chose to star in the film because she had been in an abusive relationship where she could not speak up, and wanted a project that could change how people see survivors and inspire other women.
