Plot summary
Adam Strange was a space adventurer on the planet Rann, where he lived with his wife Alanna and their daughter Aleea. A Zeta Beam carried him off to Eden Corp Mining Colony Number 75, and he swore he would find his way home when the beam returned to collect him. It never comes. Strange works out the arrival by physics and calculation, but the years pass, and he gives up, turns to drink, and brawls with the colonists; a mining foreman hauls him out of trouble because he has a wife and daughter of his own. Then the miners cut into a chamber full of deadly alien insects, the colony is attacked, and the foreman comes to him for help, but Strange is in no state to give it.
