Plot summary
Houston detective Jack Caine ignores procedure in his pursuit of Victor Manning, whose crew, the White Boys, hide their drug trafficking behind luxury cars and executive jobs. The gang killed Caine's partner during a sting, and he keeps working the case his own way. When the White Boys break into a federal evidence lockup and blow the building up, the FBI steps in and Caine is paired with Arwood "Larry" Smith, a by-the-book agent. The two investigate the theft and the killing of gang soldiers by a spinning disk. Meanwhile Diane Pallone, a coroner and Caine's girlfriend, tells him about bodies filled with heroin that carry a puncture wound to the forehead, deaths that do not fit any user.
