Plot summary
Luther Heggs escapes from prison and calls his old accomplice Buck Bowers to gather their former crew for another heist. Buck rounds up C.W. Niles, Jesus Draven and Ray Bob, and the men wait at the El Coyote Motel for Luther, while Texas Ranger Otis Lawson leads the manhunt for him. Driving to the meeting, Luther hits a bat with his car and walks to the Titty Twister, a nearby bar whose bartender offers him a ride. Learning what Luther struck, the bartender drives him back to the spot, where he and the bat, Luther's victim Victor, show that they are vampires and turn him. At the motel, Luther lays out a plan to rob the Banco Bravos bank, and Buck grows uneasy at how little preparation has gone into it.
