Plot summary
Werner Ernst is a young resident at Memorial Hospital. Two half-sisters, Felicia Potter and Connie Potter, are at odds over their comatose father's care, and Werner is pulled into their legal battle. It is not clear whether the sisters are arguing about how their father should be treated or about his $10 million estate. Werner's supervisor insists that the residents treat only patients who carry full insurance, and the hospital's legal team also becomes involved. Werner wants to do what is best for the patient, and he looks for a way to work around the lawyers and the hospital's rules.
