Plot summary
Henry has spent years as a professional assassin and now lives by himself in a cabin near the Canadian border, in frozen forest where nobody comes. One day he comes across a crashed snowmobile and a badly injured young woman. She gives her name as Melody. Wolves try to attack her, and Henry drives them off and begins to treat her wounds with the limited means he has, pulling out splinters and shards of wood. What she needs is a city hospital, and the care he can give her where they are is not enough. Delivering her there would mean being detected, but he cannot leave her to die.
