Plot summary
Months after the food storm, Swallow Falls' residents live in San Franjose while Chester V's Live Corp cleans their island. Flint Lockwood, hired by his childhood idol Chester V, works at the company and hopes for a promotion. Chester tells him the FLDSMDFR survived and now produces sentient food creatures, and that only Flint can travel to Swallow Falls and shut it down. Flint sails there with his monkey Steve, his girlfriend Sam Sparks, her camera operator Manny, officer Earl Devereaux, former mascot Brent McHale and his father Tim, who befriends living pickles on the boat. Chester's orangutan assistant Barb and Live Corp employees follow once Chester learns Flint is not alone.
