Plot summary
An Arapaho camp is starving in the winter, and Chuka, a gunman riding through the territory, gives the people food. He then travels alongside a stagecoach carrying Veronica Kleitz and her niece, Helena Chavez. Hanu and his Arapaho riders close in on the coach, but Hanu recognizes Chuka and the warriors move on. At a nearby Army post, Colonel Stuart Valois believes his overdue patrol may have been ambushed, so he keeps the civilians from leaving. His scout, Lou Trent, is sent out to look over the ground, and the horse comes back without him. Warriors keep slipping into the fort, and Chuka's instincts and shooting hold them off.
