Plot summary
Aguila leads a band of revolutionaries into a small Mexican town, where they kill the townspeople and the soldiers of the garrison. Ten years on, Don Carlos runs the town and commands an outlaw and his men, and a priest who has walked away from his clerical duties lives among the locals. Alvira, a widow, arrives with her servant and puts up twenty thousand dollars in gold for whoever hands over the men who murdered her husband. Don Carlos undertakes to help her, though he does not know what Aguila looks like or where he might be. A colonel of the Mexican Army then rides in, hunting a rebel leader.

- Bernard Gordon said that when he saw the first cut of the film everyone agreed it didn't make sense and production had to be reopened; he called the habit of finishing a film inadequately and then spending more to fix it a commonplace with writer-producer Philip Yordan.
- Part of the film was shot at a Mexican fortress set built at Madrid 70 Studios near Daganzo by Philip Yordan; the street was later used by Captain Apache, Bad Man's River, Pancho Villa and Horror Express.
