Plot summary
Belle, Rex's daughter, works for his estate sale firm. She travels north from her California hometown to catalog the library of a wine estate before the property goes on the market. Its owner, Hunter Lowell, lives in San Francisco and wants the job finished quickly. He keeps his distance from the house and from the season, and his housekeeper, Angie, says he has not made peace with the loss of his wife. Belle settles into the work, enjoys the estate's Christmas, and takes to the dog Beast. Hunter's reserve begins to ease as the two of them grow closer. Then Tony, her longtime suitor, arrives for the holidays.
