Plot summary
Christine Chubbuck works as a television reporter at a station in Sarasota, Florida, in 1974. She struggles with stress both personally and professionally. She has a crush on George Peter Ryan, a co-worker. Her doctor tells her she needs an ovary removed, which lowers the chance she will conceive a child. Her boss Michael wants her to cover crime instead of the human-interest pieces she prefers. The station's owner plans to send some Sarasota staff to Baltimore as a promotion. Christine buys a police scanner to hunt for grittier stories.
