His teenage daughter Kate wants to move up in the world, and her new friend Miffy Young, whose family belongs there, urges the Hartounians to join. The club's old-money members meet Jack, who is building low-income housing in an affluent neighborhood, and turn his application down. Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Rodney Dangerfield dropped out of Caddyshack II less than a month before filming was to begin, after Warner Bros. had already spent $2 million on pre-production. The studio sued him for breach of contract and settled for an undisclosed amount early in the hearings.
- Rodney Dangerfield, paid $35,000 for the original Caddyshack, asked for $7 million, $5 million of it in advance, to reprise his Al Czervic role in the sequel. Warner Bros. agreed, and paid Chevy Chase a seven-figure sum for a glorified cameo as Ty Webb.
- Chevy Chase, watching one of his own scenes during post-production of Caddyshack II, told director Allan Arkush, "Call me when you've dubbed the laugh track," and walked off in disgust.
- Jackie Mason, the film's lead, could not convincingly swing a golf club even after working with a golf pro on set, had trouble remembering his lines, showed no chemistry with co-star Dyan Cannon, and ate so much at craft services that his wardrobe had to be altered to fit his growing waistline.
- Dan Aykroyd angered the producers of Caddyshack II by insisting on performing his character in a bizarre, grating, high-pitched voice, which he claimed was based on the voice of Colonel Oliver North.
- Sam Kinison, who had appeared alongside Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School, was originally intended for the role of Peter Blunt, which went to Randy Quaid, but left the production when Dangerfield dropped out.
- Bill Murray refused to reprise his Carl Spackler role, opting to make Scrooged instead; his Saturday Night Live colleague and Ghostbusters co-star Dan Aykroyd signed on in his place as Captain Tom Everett.
