Andre Rosey Brown
Biography
Andre Rosey Brown was an American actor who came to screen work after years in law enforcement. Born in Rockford, Illinois, he played football at Rocky Mountain College and supported himself as a jazz drummer before joining police departments in Seattle and Los Angeles, later serving with the Inglewood police. He started on television in 1985 with a wrestler role on Hill Street Blues and made his film debut in 1986 in the television movie The Return of Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer as the tough guy Big Black Man. He went on to appear in comedies and dramas such as Throw Momma from the Train (1987), Caddyshack II (1988), Class Act (1992) and Barb Wire (1996). He also starred as Morgan Washington on the crime drama series 413 Hope St. He retired from acting in 2002 and died in 2006.
