Plot summary
Jackie Justice, a former UFC fighter, forfeited a major fight four years ago. She lives in Newark with Desi, her boyfriend and manager, cleaning houses and drinking to cope. Desi pushes her to fight again; Jackie refuses and blames him for how her career ended. He takes her to an illegal underground match, where a fighter called the Werewolf provokes her. Jackie pins her down and headbutts her unconscious. Immaculate, a promoter for the all-female Invicta Fighting Championships, sees it and recruits her, putting trainers Buddhakan and Pops to work getting her back in shape. Driving home, Jackie and Desi are stopped by Angel, Jackie's long-estranged mother, who has Jackie's young son Manny with her. Manny is in Angel's custody because his father was killed in a shooting, and the trauma has left him unable to speak.
