SPOILER
The film deliberately leaves out whether golfer Luke Chisholm makes his final tournament-winning putt, instead directing viewers to an outside website, didhemaketheputt.com, where author David L. Cook reveals the outcome on video while reading from the sequel novel.SPOILER
Director Matthew Dean Russell said leaving the golf ending unresolved on screen was a deliberate choice tied to the film's faith themes, and that the companion website was built with author David L. Cook and Visio Entertainment so religious content could live outside the movie itself.- Roger Ebert gave the film one star out of four, writing that he would 'rather eat a golf ball than see this movie again' and that Robert Duvall's performance was so strong it seemed wasted, saying 'only a great actor could give such a bad performance.'
