Plot summary
Ferruccio Lamborghini comes back to his hometown of Cento in Italy after the Second World War, having served in the Italian Army with his friend Matteo. He is reunited with his girlfriend, Clelia Monti, and with his family's farm. He tells his father, Antonio, that he intends to move to the city and open a small company building affordable farm tractors; Antonio, remembering how poor the family was and how crowded the market is, is not convinced. Ferruccio asks Clelia to marry him and she says yes. Months later he and Matteo enter the Taraday Motor Race against the famed Italian racing driver Enzo Ferrari. The tractor business still needs money, so Antonio offers his son the land.

- Antonio Banderas and Alec Baldwin were originally cast in the biopic as the adult Ferruccio Lamborghini and his rival Enzo Ferrari, with Romano Reggiani cast separately to play young Lamborghini.
- By September 2021, Frank Grillo had taken over the lead role from Antonio Banderas, and Alec Baldwin had also dropped out of the production without an announced replacement at that point.
- Director Michael Radford was originally attached to make the film from Robert Moresco's script, based on Tonino Lamborghini's biography of his father, but Radford stepped down in 2018 over scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Moresco himself.
- Mira Sorvino was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress at the 43rd Golden Raspberry Awards for her performance in the film.
