Bridget Jones is a television producer, single again at forty-three. On her birthday she attends a memorial service for her ex, Daniel Cleaver, and sees Mark Darcy there with his wife Camilla, then decides to embrace single life. Her co-worker Miranda takes her to a music festival, where she meets Jack, and a drunken mix-up over a yurt leads to a one-night stand. A week later, at her friend Jude's baby's christening, Mark tells her he is divorcing Camilla and they spend the night together.
