Plot summary
Utah and Opal are homeless drug addicts in Columbus, Ohio. They rob convenience stores for money, and Opal also sells sex to truckers. While panhandling, they meet Wood, a sponsor for New West Recovery. He offers them a meal and a chance to get clean. Opal thinks he is a Christian proselytizer, but Wood says he is only offering drug treatment. Utah accepts and flies to Los Angeles with him, while Opal stays behind. New West Recovery is a clinic founded by Vin, a former addict.
