Plot summary

Nathan and Marla Collins are the lead researchers on the Blue Demon project, which implants computer chips in the brains of six sharks so the animals can help protect the country. Budget reductions leave the electric fence around their marine lab without electricity, and the sharks chew through it and escape, reaching a lake where a group of college students is swimming. Nathan and Marla are also in the middle of a divorce, with their papers drawn up and waiting. Six weeks later, General Remora arrives to oversee operations, and Lawrence Van Allen, who funds the project, joins Nathan and Marla for a demonstration of the sharks' abilities.
