The films that reached Netflix in the United States between 25 September and 1 October arrive in two dominant moods. Horror and mystery supply the chills, with several stories turning on a threat that a family or a sibling cannot quite explain. Comedy and romance carry the other half, often through a wager or a challenge that runs further than the person who set it expected. A crime thriller and a family comedy fill out the rest of the days.

The order runs newest first, and where several landed on the same day the better rated of them leads. Anything that left in those same days sits after the arrivals, best known first.

Joseph Kosinski directs Top Gun: Maverick, with Tom Cruise, Miles Teller and Jennifer Connelly. The story sends Navy captain Pete Mitchell back to Top Gun after thirty years as a test pilot to train a detachment of graduates for a specialized mission. Knock at the Cabin comes from M. Night Shyamalan, and it puts Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge in a remote cabin in Pennsylvania where four armed strangers make a demand of the family inside. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days rests on a wager. Donald Petrie directs Kate Hudson as a writer who longs for serious subjects and Matthew McConaughey as an advertising executive who bets he can make a woman fall for him in ten days. Adam Egypt Mortimer's Daniel Isn't Real takes the quieter route, a horror and mystery story with Miles Robbins, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sasha Lane, in which an imaginary friend from boyhood follows Luke into adulthood. The titles that went the other way in those days, leaving Netflix rather than joining it, include Angeliena.
