Plot summary
Patrick McKee's finances force him to bring his wife Karina and their small son Jake back to the house where he grew up. His brother Liam runs the local lumber business. In the house, Patrick hears sounds after dark, sees lights flicker and notices things he cannot explain, and grows certain something is inside. Jake begins speaking of an invisible friend called Dolly, and Patrick's own boyhood returns to him: he once got away from a creature of local legend, the Bagman, said to take well-behaved children and push them into a rotting bag. A psychologist tells him the legend holds that the Bagman lives on fear and weakness, and that it wants the good children.
