Plot summary
Walter Davis pours himself into his job and pays little attention to anything else. His employer hopes to manage the assets of Yakamoto, a Japanese industrialist, so the dinner celebrating the deal needs a date on Walter's arm. His brother Ted and Ted's wife Susie offer Susie's cousin Nadia Gates, new in town and eager to socialize, with one warning: alcohol makes her lose control. Walter finds her charming when they meet, though her obsessive former boyfriend David attacks him before they get away. At a recording studio Walter says that music was once his ambition, then hands a reluctant Nadia champagne. At the dinner with Yakamoto her behavior turns wild.
