Plot summary
Lorenzo works as a family lawyer, and since his separation from his wife Emma he has lost his footing, custody of the children included. A visit to the zoo in his city leaves him convinced that the gorilla held in a cage there needs someone to defend its rights, so he files suit against the zoo. The ruling goes his way: the animal, named Peppe, may be returned to Africa, but the cost falls on Lorenzo. With no money to pay for the journey, he keeps Peppe in his own house instead, without telling anyone. He is in the middle of a divorce, and he counts on the awkward arrangement to help him rebuild his bond with his children, the eldest Ale and the twins Rosa and Sara.
