Plot summary
A UFO over the lake outside Newnan, Georgia, throws the town into hysteria, and the nearby Air Force base sends its personnel. Sheriff Hall, who keeps the local law, stays untouched: he does not believe in aliens, and he knows that layabouts like Brennan use the excitement to commit mischief. Then a blackout hits the town, and his rheumatic deputy Allen calls him out to retrieve a runaway boy. At the amusement park Hall finds two boys. One introduces himself as H7-25 and carries a strange device that makes everything around him go haywire. Captain Briggs, working without his skeptical general's knowledge, sees the sightings as a chance to further his own career.
