Totò Sapore and the Magical Story of Pizza (2003) on Netflix

Plot summary

Antonio Salvatore Totò Sapore is an unemployed minstrel in 18th-century Naples, and the songs he sings about good food lift the spirits of the city's hungry. That cheerfulness offends Vesuvia, a witch of fire who lives under the mountain. She plans to give the minstrel whatever he could want and then take it all back. Her clumsy servant Vincenzone goes to Naples as an American lawyer and hands Totò a fake inheritance of four old pots. He also startles the horse of Confiance, a young French woman, so that she meets Totò, who falls in love with her at once. The pair also save Pulcinella, a masked man who risked his life for a nest of eggs. When Totò and Pulcinella cook, the pots prove to be alive and able to transform whatever goes into them into food.
