Biography

Claudio Bisio is an actor and comedian who was born in Novi Ligure and grew up in Milan. He was admitted to the Piccolo teatro acting school in Milan in 1979. His first work was performing during Friday night screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. In the early 1980s he acted in classical and modern theater and began making films. He met director Gabriele Salvatores and began collaborating with him, and he also performed comedy at the Derby, a club in Milan. In the late 1980s he worked with Dario Fo, appeared at Zelig, and started a television career. Salvatores cast him in Mediterraneo (1991), and in the 1990s they worked together again on Puerto Escondido and Sud while Bisio also wrote and sang. In the late 1990s he acted on stage as Malaussène, a character by Daniel Pennac. His Zelig work became a television show, and he voiced Sid in The Ice Age.
